My little foster boy

Well the time has finally come and we have our first little foster boy for the weekend.

We are doing respite fostering - so he has a regular carer and when she needs a break he comes to our place for the weekend.

He has just turned 3 and is such a happy little boy. He arrived Friday afternoon at 4pm and will stay until Sunday afternoon 2pm. I can't believe how much patience Sammi has playing with him as she is normally not social to others at all (just prefers to be left alone with a book).
Josie has gone to work (under sufferance - as she wants to stay at home with him too) but is planning on baking cupcakes with him when she comes home tomorrow, she bought a packet mix of Thomas the Tank Engine cupcake mix.

Things I had forgotten:

Children's cd for the car (do have some and have to remember to take them with us when we go for a drive to pick up Josie)
Toys for the car (it takes 15 mins to drive there so a 30 min trip all up - need something to keep him occupied)
Bath toys - gave him some plastic cups last night but also needs just a few little plastic things for the bath

Well while he his playing happily I better try to get some scrapping done as have a few commitments I need to do before this weekend is over.

xx

Sounds like you are doing a great job. I'm sure someone out there really appreciates the break. If I lived closer I'd give you some bath toys, I know we have enought! My boys have recently decided they like having showers now anyway.

You are such a beautiful person to foster Chris, any kid would be lucky to come stay with you for any length of time :o)

Wow Christine - what an amazing thing to do! You'll have to let me know if you need a play-mate in the future! :)
