Merry Christmas and some eye candy

Merry Christmas to all that do read my blog.
Still busy with the foster kids (that came for a month's respite and haven't left yet - hoping that changes in the New Year as I need to focus more on my family, work and life in general).
A quiet Christmas with us as hubby was at work so just me and the kids - we still did our traditions. Children can have stockings before breakfast, then we have breakfast and dress before tackling the presents under the tree. Afterwards I get into the kitchen to cook a big lunch with roast pork, chicken & lamb plus all the vegetables - so yummy.
Hope you had a good Christmas too :)

Next is some eye candy - my son Josh had some photos taken before his last bodybuilding comp in October - these are copyrighted so no stealing them for your wallpaper ;)
I think he could of made a career of being a male model too - what do you think?

No Scrapping but I've been to BALI

Only have a few holidays to share that was taken on my camera (we used one of the other girls camera's for most photos and it was stolen the night before leaving - sad face).

I drank TEA - well it was lemongrass herbal tea and it was delicious (wouldn't do it all the time), did try the coffee (which I hated - even the sweetened ones that my friends we raving about how yummy it was).

After this we went cycling through villages, rice fields, etc .... well that is what we booked in for but what we got was a different story, they booked us in for an EXTREME ADVENTURE cycle tour, I didn't make it half way before my knee gave out (had to be taken to end point in car and soon as I got back to room laid down for a couple hours and iced my knee). Anyway tour was for 42 k's - through rough terrain, up and down steep hills, etc....

Went to Monkey Forrest and this delightful little girl decided to groom me and then PEE'd down my back - yucko (and that was the beginning of the day).

We actually went too early and the monkey's hadn't been fed yet and they mobbed us for the banana's - it was quite scary (not my first time feeding them and I was frightened as they were biting through our bags trying to get them - would recommend if going then go after late morning).

My best friend Sandi and I (prior to the toileting incident). I've been friends with Sandi now for over 25 years and she is like a sister to me (love you Sandi. xx)

Safari park - totally recommend it but allow yourself the whole day and take swimmers. We only booked in for the basic package but if your finances allow it go for a higher package as the safari tour is worth doing twice.

Feeding the elephants - they mobbed us and I couldn't stop laughing.

I GOT TO PAT A BABY LION CUB - I was so wrapped, not the best photo but I was talking about getting to pat one, etc - so flippin excited..........

And I got to hold the baby ORANGUTAN - he was so cute :)

Break time from all the walking at the Safari Park - so hot (Jo, Sandi & Me)

I did it on the first day - got my hair braided (cost me $15 Australian dollars), took nearly 2 hours and hurt so much to get it done (I was sure my scalp was bleeding) - it lasted as long as it took to get done (nearly 2 hours) and then I took it out. But I can say I had it done ;)

Besides from that every day we spent at least an hour at the spa getting massages, manicures, pedicures, cream baths, etc

Shop lots (not that I bought much) and ate lots of delicious food and drank Bintang (funny really as not a beer drinker but like a beer with the food).

What I didn't like about the holiday was there was lots of schoolies - some were good but others were obnoxious (that's the reason we went as Jo's daughter was there for schoolies) and the HEAT - never been over their this late in the year and the sweat was constantly dripping off you.

October's Layouts

My layouts for the month of October - I've managed to get 4 layouts done (I remember when this would of been a slow days scrapping and now it's a whole months worth).

I've had a massive cull of my scrapping stash (given it away as I just wanted it gone), kept paper ranges that really appealed to me (down to about 15 now) and my newer embellishments but all the rest have GONE.

Not the end of scrapping for me - just making time for the other things in life (currently have 2 little foster kiddies that have been with me full-time for 6 weeks and still have another 2 weeks to go, they are 2 years and 4 years, plus I'm still Mum to my 2 teenage girls & working Monday - Friday, so you could say my life has been very busy lately).

With all this happening I'm relieved that I have given up all my DT positions (that would of been such a headspin trying to create to a deadline with young ones - I don't know how you mothers of young ones do it - fairy claps for you).

Bali holiday is booked for end of next month - 24th November for 10 blissful days with my best friend (and a few of her friends) - no husbands, no children, no housework, no I wants - can't wait.

Oh and nearly forgot - I GAVE UP PEPSI MAX - OMG, still in shock (used to drink approximately 6 cans a day and I have replaced it with WATER, yes that stuff I used to think would kill me to drink it - lol). The past month I've had 2 sips on the first day I gave up, a coke zero when I went to cinemas, and 1/3 can last weekend at a social event - okay it was a tupperware party but there were adults there and not kids so it's a social event to me :D I'm so proud of myself - now if only I could get off the chocolate *rolling eyes*.......

Sara Challenge (bingo board and you had to use three things in a row - I picked row 1 across which was doily, 1 photo and stars)

Retreat Time Again

Retreat time again with http://scrapawayinwa.blogspot.com/ , this time it was at Club Capricorn, Yanchep, WA and it was a fantastic weekend away with the girls (just what I needed).

I managed to start and complete 16 layouts (most of which are for August-September DT commitments so you will see them in the upcoming months) and 2 sets of cards (3 cards in each set).

Now do you remember "WALLY" the mascot of Scrap Away in WA?????
Wally has gone into retirement and Tamara bought a new "Wally" mascot for us to fight over (when you finish a layout you have to claim Wally as your own and you can have a pick out of the choccie bowl). Here are some photos of Wally from the weekend.

Now on Saturday night we (Tamara, Sarah & I) were having a glass of wine when Wally decided he would like to join us.

Unfortunately poor Wally isn't very good with drinking and got a wee bit drunk and had to chunder :(

Then Wally had to have a lie in on Sunday to recover - thank goodness he was only found in bed with the wine bottle (imagine the explaining he would have to do to Mrs Wally if it had of been Barbie in bed with him?)

Well that's it for me now girls - off to bed to catch up on the sleep I missed out on over the weekend. Hope you all have a great week and Happy Scrapping. xx

A quiet weekend at home (no foster kiddies this weekend) and so looking forward to scrapping. Could only manage 3 layouts which I did for the Wicked Princess cybercrop.

This is my favourite: Are we there yet? You have arrived - approved - No 1 bait men
challenge by Kerry, using the word rainbow (a product for each letter).
I used: r - rubons, a - alphas, i - ink, n - number, b - buttons, o - oval, w- white cardstock

Best friends - challenge by Krissy, list of ingredients you had to use on your layout.

Relax retreat time - challenge by Kate, sketch (if you like to use it, which I did) + layout using your favourite colour (green is mine) and include a shamrock.

Most of the layouts I did this weekend were for my DT positions at Mystical Scrapbooks and Black with Two challenge blog (so you will have to wait for those ones)

The layouts I can share for you are from Wicked Princess (a forum that I don't DT for but I do love their challenges and they are very friendly).

The first layout is based on March sketch 3 (which the fabulous DT member Kate designed).

The second layout is a blind scrap that Krissy did but silly me got my left and right mixed up and did a whoopsy on my layout so covered it up by splattering paint over my layout.

Wicked Princess March Layouts

What a great weekend - hubby was away working, Sammi was on school camp and Josie being 18 was off with her friends. I had such a great relaxing scrappy time but there is only a few I can share with you.

These are the layouts I have done based on challenges at wicked_princess forum

Each week a new sketch is put up and you have until the end of the month to get your sketches in the gallery.

DT challenge (this was a complete fluke that it looks similar to sketch 1 as I did this layout the day before the sketch).

Kit challenge

I'm trying to get as much scrapping in as seeing specialist on Wednesday regarding my shoulder - 4 years of pain, physio, chiro, injections, etc and finally it showed up that I have a tear on my rotator cuff. So I'm on some pain medication (just panadeine forte - which leaves me in la-la land when I take it), so over the weekend I had windows of opportunity to scrap. Take my tablets, scrap for an hour, sit on lounge spaced out for 2 hours, get up and do some jobs around the house for an hour and repeat.

Hi all, just letting you that I'm still here just sunning myself at Exmouth, WA & reading lots of novels. I'm on holidays with Jeff and our three children (Josh, Josie & Sammie). The boys are doing lots of fishing while us girls are laying by the pool and reading. We've been sightseeing and snorkeling the other day and I've taken loads of photos so will load up a few of my favourites when I get home (next month). Must go as the pool is calling me - have fun :)

Mass Nutrition Sunshine Coast

This weekend is the CC at wicked_princess - I managed to get two of the challenges completed:
Dad: handmade title and bling it up :)
layout size: 6.12
This layout is based on sketch challenge: added criteria was 3 embellishments (I used a flower and button that I bought from Wicked Princess and a MLBOW pin)

November sketch 1: I used these papers that I won from Kat when MLS was having their bloghop.

November Sketch 2: also using some goodies that I won from Kat - so love this range that I had to buy more :)

Another RETREAT weekend for ME

This weekend saw me at another SCRAP AWAY IN WA retreat - this one was held in Baldivis so I only went as a day scrapper - lots of layouts done, a few cards and an OTP (done for my mother for xmas present).

Terrible week

I've had such a shocking week at work - sick with hayfever - then to top it off someone slashed ALL 4 tyres on my car Friday night :(

The bright side of my week was ordering some items from MLBOW love her buttons and pins :)

Also this week saw the end of the Inspiring Interiors comp at Wicked_Princess forum :)

2 full weeks of scrapping time

Last Friday I had my right knee operated on - cartlidge repair and removal of a few cysts. Which gives me 2 weeks off work and all this free time to scrap :)

Busy busy busy - so many layouts

Well last weekend was the CC at Mystical Scrapbooks and also the retreat at Scrap Away in WA so lots of scrapping for me. Then this weekend I had a crop last night at my place so masses of layouts done - over 30 all up so will only share a few.

Also bought myself a DSLR and did a course with Photo Coffee in Rockingham - so today I took Sammi out to the Wetlands at Mundijong for a little photo shoot. Here are a few of my photos - heaps on facebook.

What I did this week

I had such a busy week with work, through in a bit of scrapping and lots of yard work on Saturday.
I went and booked in for a course to learn how to use my new DSLR - it is held locally in Rockingham - any local girls want to check it out at http://www.photocoffee.com.au/
Been to see the orthopedic specialist and I have an MRI booked first before simple day knee surgery (which probably won't be until September)

This week has been so full on and it's not over yet.

Besides from work & being accepted for the DT at Sassy lil Sketches (see below post).

At 12.05 this morning I was sitting in the cinema so excited to see ECLIPSE and it was so good.

After 5 hours sleep I had to get up as Sammi has her modelling grad tonight and so much to do.

Tomorrow (after half day at work) I have another ultrasound on my left knee to see about the cysts growing in that one (specialist on 23rd July to discuss surgery on my knees).

Saturday night is Tupperware party at my place (and drinkies with friends) and then on .......

Sunday I'm taking Josie to see Rock_the_Ballet in Perth - can't wait.

This weekend is the CC at Scrap_of_Difference with 4 challenges. Here are my layouts based on the challenges. The theme is Sing a Song.

Love my Itunes: technique challenge using stamping & based on theme.

Card challenge: bright colours & buttons (had a few titles to pick from)

Sketch challenge: title on layout had to be title or lyrics to a song.

Inspiration challenge - I went with colours: blue, green, pink, black & white. Title is a song.

When do you say STOP?

The other day I had a realistic thought about how many albums I actually have already on my shelves.

Not that I've had 2nd thoughts about scrapbooking as I love it but my albums are overflowing with layouts - sometimes just to do a challenge I will scrap the same photo again and again as it suits the criteria.

So what is the solution?
I decided to put a call out to all my non scrappy friends to give me their photos so I can scrap layouts for them - now I'm not just limiting this to them so if anyone out there that reads my blog would like me to do a layout for them email me. These layouts might be used for DT work on forums, challenges, etc so permission to put them up online is a must.

Heaps of scrappiness

This week is the Cyber Crop at Mystical Scrapbooks with four challenges - you have until Midnight Friday 23rd April to upload them to the gallery. Would love to see more entries in the gallery for the Cyber Crop.

Shimano challenge - limited challenge (kind of like a blind scrap but you decide where you want to put the items on the page).

Ingredients:

base cardstock

23cm x 16.5cm pp

17.5cm x 14.5cm pp

7.5cm x 7.5cm pp

20cm ribbon/lace/border strip

13cm ribbon/lace/border strip

Journal box

At least one flower

At least one brad

Alphas

one photo 15cm x 10cm

This is the layout I have done using the above ingredients:

Shell's challenge: use at least 3 photos on a layout

My take on her challenge, I used 4 photos and no actual PP (the strips on the page were from a journal box that I cut up)

Donna Technique Challenge: stitching on layout (either by hand or machine)

my layout is only 15cm x 10cm and I hand stitched along the photo.

Ellen's Colour challenge: blue, chocolate, yellow & pink (small amounts of white and black are allowed). Once again this layout is only 15cm x 10cm

Also this weekend was the Cyber Crop at Scrap_of_Difference and the theme was "End of an Era"

This is my sketch layout - end of single life (my friends Hen's night)

Colour Technique - end of Britney Spears concert - the girls threw the confetti into the air.

I only got 2 out of the 4 layouts done as have foster child this weekend so could only scrap when he was sleeping.

My day was so wonderful - we made easter baskets and then had our easter egg hunt, went to the Easter carnival at Rockingham and the markets, shops & then the cinema.

Today I had two gorgeous Friends come over to scrap with me Julie and Sarah. Tamara popped in to join us for a chat.

I managed to complete 6 layouts - 4 for the CC at Enchanted Scrapbooking & 2 for Made With Memories (my last DT pack for them)

Lisa's challenge - scrap a layout about a female who inspires you (including stripes & stitching on layout). I did my layout on my daughter Josie who has been challenged throughout her life so far with bullying/health & weight issues but who is still an amazing teenager.

Tiff's Challenge was to scraplift a layout that she had done, see her layout here: Tiff_scrap_lift_challenge and this is my take on the layout - this is a photo of Jeff 17 years ago taken at Lawn Hill National Park in Qld (just before Josie was conceived). Wasn't my hubby a spunk!

Jodi's challenge: use black & white photos with colourful papers or colourful photos with black & white photos - really don't like the way my layout photographed (didn't show the colours right).

Tracey's challenge: had to use 5 techniques on your layout. Sanding edges, masking, decorative borders, ruffles & layers.

I thought I was pretty good at loading up all mine but when I went through blog to take down the layouts that have been accepted by http://www.scrapbooknewsandreview.com/ there was only one on my blog.

Then I realised that last weekend I did a few layouts for the CC at http://www.mysticalscrapbooks.com.au/store/ (which you still have until Friday to do and load up to gallery) I haven't uploaded them either....naughty naughty me.

Shell's Challenge: Use ONE photo (any size you like). Use older pp from stash by TWO different manufacturers. Use3 different old things not originally made for scrapbooking on your page. Use a FOUR word title.
This is my take on shell's criteria:

Donna's challenge: use haberdashery on your layout....lace, buttons, fabric you choose. also like to see some paint/colour sprays somewhere

My take on Donna's criteria: I dripped crafty notions onto cardstock (mainly because nozzle wouldn't spray it) & the dinosaur is cut out of fabric - also used some buttons.

My challenge is a blind scrap based on a layout which I picked from the gallery. Here is my layout which I altered to 8.5x11.

Ellen's challenge: make 2 cards using techniques like stamping, distressing, etc.

Sassy & MME layouts

This is what I got up too at the crop night Friday night at MADE WITH MEMORIES, my local scrapbooking shop at Rockingham, Western Australia - I did forget to take my alphas (shock horror) so had to finish them off yesterday at home. Sorry for the poor quality photos I lent my camera out so had to use the kids to take the photos and not used to it.

Now for my DT pack at Made With Memories - I received papers from Teresa Collins range - sorry to all the TC fans but I'm not one - I so struggled with what to do with these and after 2 weeks this is what I came up with. Two OTP's and one layout. Not that happy with them but I think that's because I like bright funky layouts at the moment, I did add a splash of bright red to the layouts.

Mystical Scrapbooks week long Cyber Crop

Mystical Scrapbooks has decided due to everyone's busy lives that our cybercrops will run for a whole week - here are this months cybercrop challenges - hope to see your work up in the gallery.

Shimano's love with a twist - numbers challenge
Love is a four letter word so my challenge is to do a layout with the following four items on it about something you love. You can add to the following items but all four items must be used.

4 pattern papers (can be double sided papers)
4embellishment
4 different alphas (different kinds, colours, styles, etc)
4 techniques (doodling, stamping, inking, distressing, paint, colour sprays, layering, etc)

Ellen's Love with a Twist Challenge:

Scrap an object that involves the love of your friends and or family.

Here is my take on Ellen's challenge - I made my own Wordle for it as had no photos to use.

Shell's Sketch Challenge:
Use this sketch by Liz Chidester from ‘The Scrappiest Blog’.

My take on the sketch - I made my layout 8.5 x 11 and did it on part of Jeff's lure collection.

Donna's Card Challenge:
Make a card, any type you like. The twist is, it must have a twist of ribbon

Catwalk

The last post I did was about Cinderella going to the ball.... Now this post is about Belle (from Beauty & the Beast), because like Belle my Sammi loves to read books and doesn't do much other socialising - except for her modelling.
Last year Sammi attended Scene Model Management in Perth for modelling lessons (she has been going there on and off for past 7 years), these photos were taken by Songy Knox at the end of year fashion parade. Unfortunately for us this year Scene has decided not to run classes anymore and just be an agency so Sammi is now attending a local school called Metro Modelling Academy.
Sammi is 13 (turns 14 in April) and last year she made it through to the Semi Finals for Perth Model of the Year - this year she is hoping to make it through to the Finals. While she is realistic about not being a catwalk model (too short) she just loves all the girliness (my new word) of modelling - the presentation, clothes, accessories and of course the SHOES.

Coulture Creations fashion show - they all wore black bathers/leotards, knee high socks, high heels & black netting at a train (though the netting didn't really show up in the photos)

Office Workers - all had to wear there own office type clothes with different accessories. Sammi is last on the right end and while she was the youngest in her class, she was also the smallest.

Cinderella goes to the Ball

Where is the Fairy Godmother when you need one?

Josie was invited to attend the Kolbe ball by a boy, who then got back with his girlfriend so she was uninvited (not happy, she didn't like him that way but was so excited to be going) but in between the inviting and uninviting she had found HER dress and put it on hold. So back on the shelf it went - boo hoo.
Then she was asked by another boy (just a friend) to go to the ball - woo hoo, back to the shop and the dress was still there so we laybyed it.
Then her permission form from me wasn't handed into the school on time (she doesn't attend this school) so they said she couldn't go - 24 hours later and a few tears school changed their mind and let her go (ticket was already paid for) but she lost her spot in the limo (so I had to drive her and Aaron met her at the door).
Throw in a few more dramas like dress to big (even after 2 lots of alterations), her and Aaron decided to be boyfriend/girlfriend 10 days before the ball and then 5 days later decided to stay friends (oh to be young again), and a few other tiny little things that go with teenage life.....

Anyway - the end result is BEAUTIFUL and here are a few photos.

A weekend full of scrappiness

Another layout using the rest of my DT pack from MYSTICAL_SCRAPBOOKS, the pack was full of goodies from Fancy Pants Vintage Valentine range, also heaps of Buzz & Bloom chipboard and flowers/leaves.

I Love You Ellh - layout for Enchanted Scrapbooking based on all or four colours, I picked four colours. Colours were: light green, black, light blue, pink, white, dark pink/red & yellow.

Another layout for Enchanted Scrapbooking - a Must have list challenge.

There were 5 requirements for this layout.

1. decorative boarder or ribbon or thin cardstock the length of your background.

2. sun or cloud or bird or rainbow or star or butterfly

3. large shaped pp

4. a circle

5. 3 or more photos

you could then add what ever else you needed to create the layout.

Below are some close-ups.

Now at MYSTICAL_SCRAPBOOKS the monthly challenge by Donna was a use your stash challenge and you had to use chipboard - not natural or sprayed but you could either paint on it or use pp to cover it - I went with using pp and this owl I've had in my stash for quite a while.

Is 2010 over yet???

My dad has been sick this year - rushed to hospital New Years Eve with chest pains, I flew back to Coffs Harbour to spend a few days with him before he was flown to Sydney for the Quad bi-pass, all went well but I've just had a message that he is having chest pains and is back in hospital waiting for the heart specialist to see him again. Prayers for my daddikins are greatly welcomed.

I was wondering last night if all was well as the last phone call I got from him was just before New Years and he actually rang me last night sounding upset, I told him that it was a possibility that we are moving back HOME this year (well only a four hour drive away) and he was so excited about it. I told him even if we didn't make it back to live this year that we are still coming over for his 70th in November and he asked me to promise him that I would come back and see him this year.

This is a layout that I did recently using the only photo taken when he was in hospital waiting to be flown down to Sydney for the op.

No scrapping at all this week, I had to do a quick flight back to NSW to see my dad who was admitted to hospital with his heart. He is booked in for a quadruple bi-pass next week.

I did submit to the Scrapbooking Creations for their January call-outs but no exceptance emails when I got home - bummer.

New Year & New Challenges

Happy New Year - did you make any New Year Resolutions?

Christmas DAY Photo Shoot

Our Christmas day feast - lunch was so yummy, Josh cooked all the meat, I did the vege's, the girls set the table.

My presents: Jeff bought me a pandora and Josie got me a charm, Josh & Larissa bought me 2 willow tree figurines & the table was made by Sammi (at workwork class at school - she got a A+ for it)

Josie showing off her Christmas bling - we got her 3 silver bracelets & a pandora charm and her nanna got her another pandora charm. The head band was one of the gifts she got from Josh & Larissa.

Our very own DJ Sammi - these are the head phones she got with her i-pod and she loves them to bits.

There was lots of laughter trying to do this photo shoot and quite a few mistake shots as I messed up the timer and had a giant bottom one of me. The dog wasn't meant to be in the photos but keep running in and out and jumping in front of the camera just at the right moment and we kept getting doggy bottom shots too.

No scrappy layouts yet - I've got four days off work so planning on getting some done. Nearly forgot to add - poor Jeff is working, Tanami Desert in NT so not home until next Tuesday night so on Wednesday we get Christmas all over again with him.

Scrap Weekend upload

This weekend is the Cyber Crop at Mystical Scrapbooks - see link on side bar, you still have until Midnight on Monday night to upload your challenges to the gallery.
Sketch challenge by Shimano: because it's so busy this time of the year I keep my sketch nice and simple.

This is the layout I did based on the sketch:

Goddess's gift boxes, Ellen put up instructions of how to make these boxes and you don't have to make both - only one will do. They are easy to make - took me an hour to make both.

Cookie's card challenge - had to make a christmas card with a non scrappy item on card and glittery - I used the elf which I hand cut out of a chocolate wrapper and my glittery was this gorgeous thickers.

Next are the DT layouts I made out of my kit from Mystical Scrapbooks using the great Basic Grey Indian Summer Range.

Donna has a sale on at the shop and BG is 20% off - the sale is store wide so pop on over and grab yourself a pre-christmas bargain.

Next is a layout I did using the robot pack from Enchanted Scrapbooking - so love the way this layout turned out.

Finally is my last layout for the 6 week falalala comp at Enchanted scrapbooking - for this layout we had to purchase a kit and use a little bit of everything in the kit, a photo of ourselves & a layout about Christmas traditions. This has been a great comp and I've enjoyed the challenges each week.

Scrap Day - Cyber Crop Details & Christmas Goodies

What a great day scrapping away with friends - I got 5 layouts completed (2 for Mystical_Scrapbooks monthly challenges & 3 for DT for Made_with_Memories)

Sarah made this fabulous little puddings today and I loved them so much that I had to take a photo of them and will be making them myself.
Ingredients: pkt royals biscuits, white chocolate, jaffas & spearmint leaves.
Method: melt white choc & decorate - how easy is that.

Ellen's Technique challenge at Mystical Scrapbooks - make a flower and use it on a Christmas layout:

I made my flower out of old pattern paper.

My layout: I still remember this photo shoot with Santa, he told me that Josh wouldn't sit still and behave so it would be better if I sat on his lap and held onto him. Santa was getting fresh and having a feel - dirty old bugger.....

First Challenge is up at Mystical

I'm on the DT at Mystical_Scrapbooks which is an online forum and SHOP (with a sale on right now - 15% to 20% off EVERYTHING)

Now for the first challenge that is up - COLOUR challenge with a twist.

Main colours are: brown, cream & red (any variations of these colours) & the twist - a SHABBY layout or card.

Not being a SHABBY girl myself (I have only attempted one before for lets_get_shabby) I was a bit apprehensive at first but I love what I have done.

I had to actually make a sympathy card so started to make that first and then decided to change the journal/title box and add a photo to make it a layout just to show you how easy it is to change a layout into a card or vice versa.

Semi Super Star

In this issue of Aussie Hardcore bodybuilding magazine is a couple of photos of my son - so if you are in the newsagency you can check it out but I've taken some pics to share.
On the cover is Michelle Nazaroff - who I know as she works out the gym and her little girl comes into the creche that I manage. Josh was fortunate enough to meet Michelle and her husband when he was over visiting the beginning of the year and made friends with them.

Josh was featured on a full page photo and the opposite page had a smaller photo of him. These photos were taken just before the Nabba Comp in May this year (Josh came 2nd)

But the best news is in the NEXT ISSUE he is having a profile done - usually 3 pages of photos and editorial.

Guess you can tell that I'm one proud mumma. xx

Back soon as Tonight Sammi has her modeling graduation and next Weekend is Josie dance concert so my blog is going to feature MY KIDDIES for the next week.

Today Scrapbooks from the Heart had a free crop day - these are the layouts I accomplished today, when packing for the crop I sort out which papers, photos and embellies could go together which enables me to scrap more on the day.

Scrap Therapy November Cyber Crop

Woo Hoo - It's a STAMPEDE at Scrap Therapy......

Sketch challenge - Jeff is growing a moustache for Mo...vember and I couldn't resist scrapping this photo I took of him.

Theme challenge layout - had to use 3 different stamps on the layout - photo was taken on Melbourne cup day. I had actually gotten home and gotten out of my fancy clothes into my trackie dacks and then decided I hadn't had a photo of me taken so got redressed and my daughter snapped this photo of me in the front yard.

Inspirational Challenge - picture was a scene from running of the bulls, so did my layout based on needing a nurse and the colours I've used (red & kraft) were also in the photo.

Card challenge - had to make at least 3 cards each with at least one stamp on each card. I used the scraps from my 3 layouts to make my cards.

OUR SPECIAL THINKING SPOT

What a fabulous criteria to work with - at first I was thinking tree and then I remembered the pile of chipboard I keep buying (and don't use very often).
I so love this range of Sassafras and have done so many layouts with it the last couple of weeks.
Diecut paper: I cut mine out of sassafras, monstrosity, spot on, patterned paper.
3 different size photos: 10x7; 8x6; 6x5
Tree: found this chipboard tree in amongst my ever growing stash of chipboard shapes, painted and the DM'd it
Added some cut out shapes from sassafras, monstrosity, framed, patterned paper and a sticker journal box from the same range.
Alphas are carolees tiny red letters (another favourite product of mine).

I would also like to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to Amanda for giving me the chance to be part of the fabulous DT here at Out of the Hat and I have thoroughly enjoyed the past 6 months (time flies).

Sassafras Silly Monsters

Have you bought any of the sassafras Silly Monsters range - it is so gorgeous - particularly if you love bright colours. I've done two layouts using this range in the past week (have only taken photo of one as the other layout just needs some tweaking).
For this layout called Whimsical Rider I used the whole packet of brads (okay minus one as I used that on the other layout - I replaced the one I used with the red watermelon slice brad), it was for a cybercrop challenge at Enchanted Scrapbooks (see link on side bar) and the challenge was to use a whole packet of product on one layout.

My husband riding our daughters scooter down a hill near our place - he had so much fun on it.

mystical_scrapbooks cybercrop is this weekend

Word association challenge by Sam (had to use some of these words in your layout): Black, creepy, crawly, Splat, Scary, White, Transparent, Fear, Blood, Dark, Skeleton - I used mine in my journalling.

Sketch challenge by Ellen: click here to see her sketch. I turned sketch on the side as photo I wanted to use was landscape and changed the size of the sketch to 8.5 x 11.

Technique challenge by Cookie: - misting & masking with no pattern papern. I used crafty notions colour sprays and I had bought some chipboard shapes and when I punched them out of the board I found I had some great templates left to work with. Also added a bit of stitching and stamping to layout.

Also at Mystical we are in the process of the FAMILY TIES competition.

Round 1 will be about our PARTNERS

Colors for this challenge will be.... RED, BROWN,CREAM and HOT PINK (I used the fabulous AC Romance range of pp's), you have to use at least 3 of these colours and also allowed to use black and white and the title of your page must be a SENTENCE!

Round 2: Create a layout about Children.

Colors for this challenge are pastels, baby blue. baby pink, lemon and lime. (must use at least 3 of these colours - I used baby blue, lemon & lime)

Requirements is Journaling, you need to have more than just time and date (something I'm not big on so have done a sentence on children)

What a week

Josh and Larissa have arrived in WA - Josh has found full-time work at a butchers but is hoping to get into the mining industry. Larissa has applied for a few jobs and hopes to have work soon.

Josie had her dance competitions and she did a song and dance routine singing "Love Story" by Taylor Swift - she lost points as the judge said she didn't project her voice enough so only received an honourable mention. She was so worried before going on the stage and this is her first solo dance competition (when she was 6 years old she did a group tap competition).

My little nephew was born - his name is Jakob Danuel and so adorable - here he is with his big cousin Sammi. Don't you just love the smell of a newborn baby and how soft they are.

My husband is a hero - he save a guys life at work (but typical Jeff wants no hero status and just wants to go on and do his job). They were working under ground in mine shaft when Jeff realised he couldn't see his workmate anymore so had a look for him and found him face down in puddle of water with his face submerged. The guy was too large for Jeff to move so Jeff hit the emergency switch and then sat with the guy holding his head out of the puddle administering first aid until the paramedics got down the shaft. The guy is okay and now up walking and talking (doing tests to find out why he collapsed).
